Electric service can only be rendered to members of the Cooperative - a membership fee is required. All applications for membership must be approved by the Board of Directors and are non-transferable. A membership can be cancelled by the Board of Directors when such member has violated or refused to comply with the By-Laws, Articles of Incorporation, or rules and policies established by the Board of Directors. The Cooperative will hold membership and service requests for six months from the date of application; if the service has not been requested within that time, the application and connect order will be voided and the Cooperative will handle any subsequent request as a new one.
Each member is expected to execute and deliver a legal easement to the Cooperative to construct and maintain electric lines on his property.
The Cooperative furnishes the meter base and meter. The member furnishes the meter loop. Please remember the Cooperative's responsibility ends at the meter.
Your meter is highly calibrated and highly accurate device. Very few commodities are as accurately measured as your electric service. The tendency for a meter is to run slow rather than fast, due to the fine dirt and moisture that may get inside the meter. We try to insure accuracy for your benefit and ours by a regular maintenance program...a highly specialized testing and repair service is also utilized by your Cooperative.
Fannin County Electric Co-op has an automated meter reading system. Meters are read on Saturdays through this system and are billed as follows:
Cycle 1--Billed 1st Monday of each Month
Cycle 2--Billed 2nd Monday of each Month
Cycle 3--Billed 3rd Monday of each Month
Cycle 4--Billed 4th Monday of each Month
